The DUNGEY family ancestors as far as I have researched.

My name is John Ronald Dungey (Ron). I was born Feb. 27,
1923 1n Coquille, Oregon. My father’s name is Thomas
Franklin (Frank) Dungey, born in Kerrville, Texas, Sept.
22, 1884. My mother is Catherin Alice {Kate} Broad Dungey,
born in Lead, South Dakota, January 10, 1885. My Grandfather
Dungey, was Thomas Dungey born on March 9, 1854 at
Staplehurst, Kent county, England, about 20 miles south
of London. He had 7 brothers and sisters. Their parents
were William and Ann Elizabeth Lefevre born in 1819. His
Father and Mother was William Dungey (1796) and Mary? (1802).
My Grandmother Dungey was Julia Tann Dungey born in 1856 in
either SwanseY or Abergavenny, Wales. There were 5 children
born of this marriage. Alice (1878), Born in England, had no
children, Olive (1879) born in England, had no children, my
Cather, Thomas Franklin born in Kerrville, Texas on Sept. 22, 1684,
Amy (1886) married Archy Willard and had one daughter Lavona,
married Joe Bray, They live in Salem, Oregon, Ada born in New
Mexico on May 31, 1888. Grandpa was on his way to Oregon
along with his brother Walter and his wife Charity.

They had a ranch out of Kerrville and a severe drought hit
and their cattle, horses and sheep were all dying off so they
sold what they could and all headed for Oregon, plus the
Doctor’s told Grandpa, Grandma had to get to another climate
or she wouldn’t make it. They got as far as New Mexico where
Aunt Ada was born (1888). ‘They didn’t travel very far in a
day with a covered wagon. They arrived in Oregon around 1891.
Uncle Walter settled in Gold Hill where he and Aunt Char raised
8 children, Edith, Elmer (97), Myrtle (86), William (Pete 85)
Ruby (92), Daisy (90), LeRoy (98). Grandpa filed a mining claim
On Gall’s Creek. That is where Grandma died. She is buried in
the Rocky Point Cemetery [Gold Hill]. She told him to write to her sister
Elizabeth to help with the children, which he did and they
married and had three more. Alton (96) Lester (99) and
Eunice (1900). Aunt Alice had no children, Aunt Olive married
Bill Graham and they adopted a girl named Rena who married Vic
McCalistar and they had one girl names Phyllis. Don’t know
where they went.

My father Frank had two daughters, Jean (1912)
who married Tom Hawkins and they had two girls, Janet (Jan) and
Johanna (Jo). Ron (1923) who married Leslie Dorene Frye, born
at Powers, Oregon, Jan. 27, 1931, and they had two boys, Ronald
(Ron) born Dec. 18, 1949 and Shawn born July 31, 1963 who each
had two boys. Ronald Franklin Dungey married Kathleen Allen in
Canyonville, Oregon and their two sons are Ronald Gerald, born
in 1985 at Roseburg, Oregon and Tyler John born in 1988 at Grants
Pass, Oregon. Shawn Patrick married Tanya Dixon in Amity, Or
and they had one daughter, Casandra born in 1984 died in 1986,
son Shawn Michael born Nov. 1989 at Portland, Oregon and Jacob
Daniel born in Portland May 27, 1994.

Aunt Amy born in 1886, not sure where, married Archy Willard
and they had one daughter Lavona who married Joe Bray. They
had one son Jerry, born March 26, 1939. Think he still lives
in the Salem Area.

Aunt Ada, married Fred McClellan, and they had 4 children.
George who married Mabel Kambach and she had one son Leon.
Then, they adopted a girl donna and a boy David. George
and Mabel live in Myrtle Point,
Margery who married Ed Throckmorton and they had two girls
Sally and Sue. They live in Florence.
Don, who married Lois Golden and they had two girls, Donnell
who married and he died. They had no children. Patty who
married and I believe they have a boy. Lost track of these
girls and that’s a shame. Don Died. ?

Marvene, married Walter Lake and they had two girls, Judy
and Sheila. Then she married Al Allen and they had a boy
named George. Then she married Chuck Fredrickson and they
had two boys, Charles and John. Then she married Benny Cox
and they live in Charleston, Oregon.

Alton Dungey, 1896 – 1981, married Ann Hooten. They had one
son Allan, who married a girl named Joan and they had Tom, Bill,
John and Patricia. He lives in Henderson, Nevada.

Lester Dungey, 1899-1983 married Tude Jamison and they had
one son, DelWayne, who married Charlotte and they had one
son Del Gene, who married and I think has two sons. Del still lives
in Scappoose, where Uncle Lester lived, worked and died.

Eunice Violet Dungey, 1900-1934, married Clarence F. Garrett,
1898-1947, they Lived in Klamath Falls, where he worked for
the railroad. They had one daughter, Leonora Mae who is a
month older than I am. She married Charles Everett Bohannon
and they have two children, a girl, Nancy 1948 and a boy Wayne,

Grandpa’s mother’s name was Ann Elizabeth (LeFevre) Dungey,
born in 1826 and his father’s name was William Dungey, born
1820 in Cranbrook, Kent, England. He was a gardener at the
time Grandpa was born. There were 9 children in the family.
Henry, born 1859, My Grandpa Thomas born 1854, Edward born 1861,
Walter born 1862, Amy born 1865, Rebecca born 1867, Sussanah
born 1869, Charles born 1848, Catherine born 1852. My Grandfathers
Father’s parents were William Dungey and Mary (no
maiden name). They had eight children.

Grandpa’s brother Walter, married Charity (Thompsett) and they
came to Oregon with Grandpa. They lived in Gold Hill. They
had Edith, Elmer (1397), Ivy (88), Myrtle (86), William (Pete) 85,
Ruby (92), Daisey (90), LeRoy (98). Edith married Royal
Danmur Cameron and they had LeRoy (1916), Lois, Marge (19),
Aclene, Ruth (11), Douglas (08), Robert Keith. They live
mostly in Grants Pass. I thought I was looking at my Dad
and Aunt Amy in those girls when I met them. Grandpa’s
brother Charles married Ann Julia Westgate and they had
John (74), Julia, Annie, William. John married Mary Maude
Lewis. They had Julia Margaret (96), Chas. Milton (98),
Ann Westgate (1900), Joseph John (02 D. 02), Lewis George (09)
Lora Ethel (12), Jean Murial (16) married to a Singleton.

This is as far as I am going with this. Somebody younger should
take this on and look up Grandma’s people in Wales. Her maiden
name was Julia Tann.
